My love of English started with my passion for storytelling. I believe it is essential that all stories are represented in the English Language Arts classroom and this belief is reflected in the autonomy students have in my class. I want students to know that their voice will be heard. At the core of my teaching philosophy is the celebration of growth, and the commitment I have made to assess students’ knowledge based on progress and not the final product. My hope is that students will always want to continue exploring their understanding of the subject because it allows them to learn more about themselves.
